At 4:17 PM, Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for an Automatic Fire Alarm (AFA) at Mother of Sorrows School. Station 20 responded with Truck 20 (3 firefighters), with Captain 20 going directly to the scene, and an additional firefighter manning Station 20. Westmorland 911 dispatched the following stations to support Station 20: Station 22 (Export VFC), Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One), Station 64 (White Valley VFC), Station 78 (Sardis VFC), and Station 236 (Holiday Park VFC). Captain 20 was first on scene, established command, found no fire or smoke coming from the structure, and ensured that the school was evacuated. Truck 20, Engine 22-1 and Medic 611 arrived on scene, and upon investigation found that the AFA had been accidentally activated due to a volleyball hitting a pull station during a game in the school gym. Command 20 cancelled all units still proceeding to the scene, released all units on scene. Truck 20 returned to service and station.
