At ~ 7:46 AM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of William Penn Highway and Cozy-Inn Cutoff. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (5 firefighters including Captain 20), with 3 firefighters (including Chief 20 and Lieutenant 20) going directly to the scene, and 2 firefighters on standby at the station in case additional apparatus was needed at the scene. Westmorland 911 also dispatched Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One) and the Murrysville Police to the scene. Chief 20 was first on scene, established command, found that 3 cars were involved in a chain reaction accident, and that 2 of the vehicles were leaking fluids onto the roadway. Medic 616 and Medic 617 arrived, and assessed all three drivers, and took one driver to a local hospital for evaluation. Rescue 20's crew remediated the leaking fluids from the vehicles, and cleared a small amount of debris from roadway. Gombach Towing removed the 2 non-drivable vehicles from the scene. Command 20 released Rescue 20 and its crew for return to service and station after the vehicles were removed from the scene.
