At ~ 7:56 AM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Alarm Activation at the Murrysville Eat'n Park. Station 20 responded with Engine 20 (3 firefighters), with Chief 20 and Lieutenant 20 going directly to the scene. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One) to support Station 20. Chief 20 and Lieutenant 20 were first on scene, established command, and found none of the structure's occupants in danger. Upon arrival of Engine 20 and Medic 613, the firefighters entered the building, and used Four-Gas Meters to meter oxygen levels within the space. It was found that the Soda Carbonation Machine was slightly leaking Carbon Dioxide, which had activated the Kitchen CO2 Detector. The leaking Carbon Dioxide did not pose a danger to the occupants of the structure, and the manager indicated that maintenance personnel were on the way to correct the issue. Command 20 released Engine 20 and Medic 613 for return to service and station.
