At ~ 3:27 AM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of a car vs a truck tire in the eastbound lanes of William Penn Highway near Andrews Drive. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (2 firefighters). Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One), and the Murrysville Police. Upon Rescue 20's arrival, the Murrysville Police had command of the scene, with the car in the left lane of the eastbound lanes of William Penn Highway with the driver self-extracted from the car, no debris or fluid was on the roadway, and the truck tire on fire in the medial strip. Rescue 20's crew used the front bumper attack line with water and foam to extinguish/cool the truck tire, while Station 610 EMS assessed the vehicle driver. Once the fire was extinguished/cooled, and since there was no debris or fluids on the roadway, the Murrysville Police released Rescue 20 for return to service and station.
