At ~ 2:52 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a 3-vehicle auto collision at the intersection of William Penn Highway and Gates Avenue. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (4 firefighters), Squad 20 (Captain 20), with 2 firefighters going directly to the scene. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One) and the Murrysville Police to the scene. Captain 20 in Squad 20 was the first fire/rescue unit on scene, established command, and found 3-vehicles blocking the left eastbound land of William Penn Highway. Command 20 found a small amount of debris and fluid on the roadway, only 1 of the vehicles immobile, and Station 610 EMS personnel assessing the 3 operators who refused treatment. Rescue 20's crew remediated the debris and fluid on the roadway, while the Murrysville Police requested a towing service for the immobile vehicle. Once the immobile vehicle was removed by Gombach Towing, Rescue 20's completed the fluid remediation, and Command 20 returned all Station 20 units to service and station.
