At ~5:08 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a 2-vehicle collision involving a Westmorland Transit Authority Bus and an automobile on Old William Penn Highway, just east of the Westmoreland/Allegheny County Line. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (5 firefighters), with Captain 20 going directly to the scene. Westmorland 911 also dispatched the following stations to support Station 20: Murrysville Police, Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One), Station 64 (White Valley VFC), and Station 78 (Sardis VFC). Rescue 20 and the Murrysville Police arrived together, and the Murrysville Police established command at the scene. The bus and automobile had brushed up against each other, and the driver of the automobile could not open the driver's door. The automobile was still mobile, and the driver with the assistance of the Station 20 firefighters was able to move the car to the parking lot of the adjacent State Farm Insurance Office. There was no debris or fluids on the roadway, both vehicles were mobile, and the EMS personnel needed no assistance. The Murrysville Police determined that no additional fire/rescue services were required and Captain 20 returned all on scene and approaching fire/rescue units. Rescue 20 returned to service and station.
