At ~ 5:14 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of a brush fire near a residence on Sardis Road. Station 20 responded with 9 firefighters (including Lieutenant 20) going to the station to man the apparatus, while Assistant Chief 20 went directly to the scene. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One) to support Station 20. Assistant Chief 20 was first on scene, established the command, and found that the fire was a controlled burn. Command 20 returned Station 20 to service and station. All fire apparatus remained in service and in station.
