By Secretary Mike Cline
November 30, 2020

At ~9:34 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) to ventilate a restroom due to a pepper spray discharge at the Murrysville Sheetz on William Penn Highway. Station 20 responded with 5 firefighters going to Station 20 to crew Truck 20, while Assistant Chief 20 and Sergeant 20 went directly to the scene. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One), and the Murrysville Police for the incident. Assistant Chief 20 was first on scene, established the command, and found that the pepper spray fumes had already dissipated, and no additional ventilation or fire/rescue services were needed. Truck 20 remained in service and in station.
