At ~4:33 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of a broken exterior gas line at a residence on Fawnway Drive. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (4 firefighters), Squad 20 (1 firefighter), with Assistant Chief 20 going directly to the scene, and 1 firefighter manning the station. Squad 20, Rescue 20 and Assistant Chief 20 arrived on scene with Assistant Chief 20 establishing command. It was found that a vehicle had hit the home's gas meter, damaging the meter and doing damage to the home. The firefighters were able to shut off the gas supply, and surveyed the interior of the home using 4-gas meters. No evidence of natural gas was found and People's Gas was notified of the damaged meter. Command 20 returned all Station 20 units to service and station.
