By Secretary Mike Cline
September 23, 2021

At ~ 9:03 AM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) to assist Station 64 (White Valley VFC) for a residential structure fire on Sinan Drive. Station 20 responded with Truck 20 (5 firefighters including Sergeant 20), Engine 20 (2 firefighters including Assistant Chief 20), Rescue 20 (3 firefighters including Captain 20), with 3 firefighters (including Chief 20 and Chaplain 20) going directly to the scene. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched the following additional stations to support Station 64: Station 22 (Export VFC), Station 78 (Sardis VFC), Station 30 (Delmont VFC), Station 102 (Washington Township VFC), Station 170 (Monroeville #4), Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One), Murrysville Police, and the Westmoreland County Fire Marshall. Chief 20 was first on scene finding the house fully involved, and establishing the initial command. Engine 78 was the first unit on scene and performed the initial attack on the fire. Truck 20 arrived on scene, and set up on the front of the house, deploying its 100 ft. ladder and master streams, while Engine 22 established the water supply from the nearest hydrant to Engine 78 and Truck 20. Chief 64 arrived on scene, and took the command, as the combined firefighter crews of the responding stations extinguished the fire. While the firefighters were performing salvage and overhaul of the structure, the West Penn Power and People's Gas Representatives ensured that the utilities were in a safe condition. The PSP Fire Marshal arrived and performed an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Once the investigation was complete, Truck 20 used its master streams to ensure that there would be no rekindle of the fire. Once the structure was declared safe for no kindle of fire, Command 64 released all units including Truck/Engine/Rescue 20 for return to service and station.
