At ~ 7:40 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a Multi-Vehicle Collision at the intersection of Old William Penn Highway and Sardis Road. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (2 firefighters), with 2 firefighters (including Lieutenant 20) going directly to the scene, and 1 additional firefighter manning the station. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One), and the Murrysville Police for the incident. When Rescue 20 arrived, Lieutenant 20 had already established command, and the firefighters found a 3-vehicle collision in the westbound lane of Old William Penn Highway at the intersection. The firefighters remediated a small amount of fluid leaking from one of the vehicles, assisted the police in traffic regulation, and assisted the Station 610 EMS Personnel in removing the driver from one of the vehicles for transportation to a local hospital. Two of the vehicles departed the scene under their own power, and the third vehicle was recovered by Gombach Towing. Once the vehicle was removed, all debris and dropped fluids were remediated, Command 20 returned Rescue 20 to service and station.
