At ~4:37 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a 2-vehicle collision near the intersection of William Penn Highway and the Cozy Inn Cutoff. Station 20 responded with 6 firefighters (including Captain 20 and Lieutenant 20) going to the station to crew Rescue 20, while 2 firefighters (Assistant Chief 20 and Sergeant 20) went directly to the scene. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched the Murrysville Police and Murrysville Medic One (Station 610). The Murrysville Police were first on scene, established command, and found that no fire/rescue services were needed at the scene. The Murrysville Police cancelled Rescue 20, however the firefighters who went to the scene remained, and assisted the Murrysville Police with traffic regulation, until the vehicles were recovered. Rescue 20 remained in service and in station.
