By Secretary Mike Cline
December 23, 2020
At ~ 12:43 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of smoke coming from the gutters of a townhome on Rainprint Lane. Station 20 responded with Truck 20 (6 firefighters including Assistant Chief 20), with 2 firefighters (including Chief 20) going directly to the scene. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched the following additional stations to support Station 20: Station 64 (White Valley VFC), Station 78 (Sardis VFC), Station 22 (Export VFC), Station 236 (Holiday Park VFC), and Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One). Support 610 was first on scene and reported nothing evident. Truck 20 arrived next with Assistant 20 establishing the command and holding the incident to Truck 20. Truck 20's interior firefighters entered the home, surveyed it with a Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC), finding no evidence of fire. Upon further investigation it was found that the smoke came from a neighbors pellet smoker, and did not present a danger. Command 20 turned the townhome back to the owner, and returned Truck 20 to service and station.
