January 22, 2022
At ~3:31 AM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a Carbon Monoxide (CO) Alarm at on home on Clearfield Lane. Station 20 responded with Engine 20 (4 firefighters), Squad 20 (3 firefighters including Captain 20), with Deputy Chief 20 going directly to the scene, and 1 firefighter manning the station. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One) for the incident. Deputy Chief 20 was first on scene, established the command, and found the home's occupants outside of the home. Engine 20, Squad 20, and Medic 615 arrived on scene. Station 20 firefighters entered the structure with 4-Gas Meters and found a concentration of CO within the home coming from the basement gas furnace. The firefighters turned off both of the home's gas furnaces, and Command 20 requested that Westmoreland 911 dispatch Peoples Gas to the location. Upon arrival of the Peoples Gas Crew, Command 20 turned the scene over to the gas company representative. Command 20 returned Engine 20 and Squad 20 to service and station.
