During April 2025, the Murrysville Volunteer Fire Company #1 (Station 20) answered 94 Fire/Rescue Calls for a yearly running total of 185. Of the 94 calls for the month, 55 were a result of the severe windstorm of 29 April, which caused extensive damage to the electricity infrastructure within the Murrysville-Export Area. Further during the month, the company continued its Joint Training Program with the Export Volunteer Fire Department (Station 22), with the emphasis on cross-company equipment familiarization, and water flow/pump training. The firefighters of Station 20 used Truck 20 to raise the American Flag at the Murrysville Alliance Church for the 12 April “Orange Heart Memorial” (for Vietnam Veterans), and the 27 April for the Annual "Blessing of the Bikes". As the warmer months of the year are upon us, the firefighters of the Murrysville Volunteer Fire Company will not only continue its Joint Training Program but will remain prepared to answer all Fire/Rescue Calls within its Primary and Mutual Aid Areas of Responsibility. |
