During the early evening, Station 20 (Murrysville Volunteer Fire Company) and Station 64 (White Valley Volunteer Fire Company) conducted a Joint Rope Rescue Training Session at the Franklin Regional High School. The firefighters trained on rescuing accident victims on a hillside using ropes, pulleys and a Stokes Basket. This type of rescue training is essential due to the steeply compartmented topography of many areas in the Municipality of Murrysville. Further the training was enhanced by the less than optimal weather conditions, which are normal for the Western Pennsylvania Region. Additional Joint Fire/Rescue Training Sessions are being planned for the Volunteer Fire Companies within the Municipality of Murrysville.
